Here’s where I got some clues as to where to connect the wires to bend the circuit:

Initially, I connected points 1 and 2 on the 36-pin connector to a potentiometer and then to the chip in the last pic. It worked out pretty well, except that the transitions on the pot weren’t exactly smooth. A switch would work just as well.

Here’s the NES circuit. My first attempt was to connect pins 1 and 2 from the 36-pin cartridge connection to one of the points on this chip here.
In the final version that’s finished now, I bridged a couple points on the chip permanently and I’m switching between points on the 36-pin connector.

Here’s a few shots of Rampage. There’s a glare from the flourscent light I forgot to turn off. Oh well.

I got the NES glitching now on a potentiometer, but it doesn’t transition smoothly. So I’ll probably just add a switch. I’ll post a couple pics of the circuit board later.

I’m circuit bending the video on my NES. My goal is to great a music-activated NES video glitchbox. But in the meantime, I’m going to take a bunch of photos of some of the cooler looking stuff. If I can get my hands on a digital video camera, I’ll just transfer the video signal straight to that to get some better flicks. But at the same time, photos of TV screens look cool. This one was freehand, but I’m going to get a tripod set up this evening.
